Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. The motors are built to 841XL design and feature an upgraded electrical and mechanical design with NEMA Premium® efficient winding. They include Inpro/Seal® VBX bearing isolators (thru 210 frame) and VBXX isolators on fan and drive end shaft extensions. An epoxy paint provides an IP56 enclosure, while stainless breather drains and proprietary cast iron frames help reduce vibration and noise. Terminal lugs on motor leads facilitate connection, and the motors come with a 5-year warranty. These motors are suitable for a variety of industries, including petro-chemical, pulp and paper, cement, aggregate mining, and other process industries requiring premium efficient motors that are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed IEEE 841-2001 TEFC motor standards for extreme severe duty service.
