Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings using Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire, which complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. The motors are equipped with an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, finished with a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer both inside and outside, and coated in gray epoxy paint with corrosion-resistant hardware. They also offer reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results shipped with each motor. These premium efficient motors are constructed to meet rigid standards for severe duty service.
