Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to protect against severe environmental operating conditions. These motors feature a 1.15 service factor, a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. They also come equipped with a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, and corrosion-resistant hardware, making them suitable for applications in petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. Additionally, these motors are tropicalized to withstand harsh climates and processing industry applications that require enhanced durability and corrosion protection.
