One-way DC controls are designed to operate permanent magnet or wound field motors, with the ability to change the motor's rotation by reversing the armature leads. Some NEMA 1 and NEMA 4X controls offer optional switches for reversal. Stopping of a motor with a one-way control should be accomplished through dynamic braking, with certain controls providing a forward-brake-reverse switch for this purpose. The kit includes a field power supply that allows compatibility with shunt wound DC motors and permanent magnet motors, along with features such as adjustable acceleration, deceleration, current limit, IR compensation, minimum and maximum speed settings, and a current limit indicating LED. Additionally, it is equipped with a 5K speed potentiometer for speed control, an anti-demagnetization circuit to protect PM motors and the SCR power bridge against direct shorts, and a noise rejection circuit to prevent false starts and blown SCRs. The controls are UL and cUL recognized, making them suitable for applications in conveyors, mixers, packaging machinery, and other systems requiring variable speed and constant torque.
