One-way DC controls are designed to operate permanent magnet or wound field motors, with the capability to change motor rotation by reversing the armature leads. Some NEMA 1 and NEMA 4X controls offer optional switches for reversal, while stopping the motor should be done using dynamic braking; certain controls also feature a forward-brake-reverse switch for this purpose. The kit includes a full wave SCR control with a free wheeling diode (NEMA type K) and a field power supply that allows compatibility with both shunt wound DC motors and permanent magnet motors. Key attributes include adjustable acceleration, deceleration, current limit, IR compensation, as well as minimum and maximum speed settings. The controls feature a current limit indicating LED and a 5K speed potentiometer for precise speed control. Additionally, an anti-demagnetization circuit protects permanent magnet motors and safeguards the SCR power bridge against direct shorts, while a noise rejection circuit eliminates false starts.
