The Proto® 1/4" drive socket measures 5/8" in size and features a 6 point design with a length of 7/8". It is specifically engineered to handle stubborn or damaged fasteners and is suitable for use on fasteners made from soft materials. The socket incorporates the TorquePlus™ design, which is a high-performance drive configuration that facilitates quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. This configuration utilizes a radius-corner design that shifts contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, effectively distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket, thereby minimizing slippage. Additionally, the TorquePlus™ internal design significantly reduces the risk of fastener rounding, prolongs fastener life, and enables users to turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners with greater ease.
