The Proto® 3/8" drive socket with a size of 16 mm and a length of 1-1/8" is designed with a 6 point configuration, making it suitable for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from soft materials. Its TorquePlus™ design enhances performance by facilitating quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. This configuration incorporates a radius-corner design that shifts the contact area and stress away from the corners of the fastener, thereby distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket to minimize slippage. Additionally, the TorquePlus™ internal design reduces the risk of fastener rounding, prolongs the life of fasteners, and assists users in turning worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners more effectively.
