The Proto® 1/2" drive socket is designed with a 15/16" size and features a 12-point configuration, measuring 1-9/16" in length. This socket is particularly effective for loosening stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from softer materials. It incorporates the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that facilitates quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. The radius-corner design of TorquePlus™ shifts the contact area and stress away from the corners of the fastener, distributing stresses over a larger area of the socket to minimize slippage. This innovative internal design not only reduces the risk of rounding fasteners but also extends the lifespan of the fasteners and simplifies the process of turning worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
