The Proto® 3/8" drive deep socket 1/2" features a 6 point design that is particularly effective for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as fasteners made from softer materials. This socket incorporates the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that ensures quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats instead of the corners, enhancing overall efficiency. The TorquePlus™ configuration utilizes a radius-corner design, which shifts the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, thereby distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket to minimize slippage. Additionally, this internal design decreases the risk of fastener rounding, promotes longer fastener life, and facilitates the turning of worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
