The Proto® 3/8" drive socket is a 24 mm, 12-point socket measuring 1-5/16" in length, designed specifically for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners and those made from soft materials. Featuring the TorquePlus™ design, this high-performance drive configuration facilitates quick and easy socket engagement directly to the flat surfaces of the fastener rather than its corners. The TorquePlus™ configuration employs a radius-corner design that effectively shifts the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket to minimize slippage. Additionally, the TorquePlus™ internal design helps to minimize fastener rounding, extends fastener life, and makes it easier for users to turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
