The Proto® 3/8" drive socket, measuring 9/16" with a 12-point design and a length of 1-1/8", is specifically engineered for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from soft materials. It features the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that ensures quick and easy engagement with the flats of fasteners instead of the corners. This innovative configuration incorporates a radius-corner design that shifts the contact area and stress away from the corners of the fasteners, distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket, which effectively minimizes slippage. Furthermore, the internal TorquePlus™ design reduces the risk of fastener rounding, extends the lifespan of the fasteners, and facilitates the user’s ability to turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
