The Proto® 1/4" drive deep socket, 8 mm - 6 point, is designed specifically for use on stubborn or damaged fasteners, as well as those made from soft materials. This socket features the TorquePlus™ design, a high-performance drive configuration that facilitates quick and easy engagement with the fastener flats rather than the corners. Its radius-corner design shifts the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners, effectively distributing contact stresses over a larger area of the socket to minimize slippage. Additionally, the TorquePlus™ internal design reduces the risk of fastener rounding, extends the life of fasteners, and makes it easier for the user to turn worn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.
