The Proto® Black Chrome Combination Reversible Ratcheting Wrench 8 mm - Spline is designed for use on metric 4, 6, and 12 point, spline, and Torx® fasteners. It features a robust chrome-vanadium switch lever that facilitates easy changes in turning direction to enhance speed. The wrench has a 15° angled offset box end to keep the shank clear of obstructions, and both the box ends and switch levers are constructed from chrome-vanadium for high strength and durability. The countersunk box end allows for effortless application to fasteners, while the spline design is specifically engineered for specialty spline bolts that require minimized weight and size of bolt heads. This design ensures that the wrench makes contact with conventional fasteners away from the corners, distributing force over a larger area, thereby reducing the risk of fastener scoring and preventing rounding or damage that could lead to foreign object damage (FOD). The high contact surface area enables the turning of highly rounded fasteners. Additionally, the wrench incorporates an anti-slip design (ASD) open end, and its black chrome finish enhances corrosion resistance and offers a visually distinctive appearance.
