The portable eyewash and drench hose unit G1562 is a self-contained system designed for environments without a continuous supply of potable water, suitable for low traffic areas where plumbed equipment installation is not cost effective. The unit features a 15 gallon stainless steel pressurized tank with built-in carrying handles, Schrader air intake valve, pressure gauge, and pressure relief valve, providing approximately 10 gallons (37.9 liters) of usable water capacity. The eyewash component includes two GS-Plus spray heads each equipped with a flip top dust cover, internal flow control, and filter, operated by a 1/2" IPS chrome plated brass stay-open ball valve with a flag handle; the pressure regulator maintains a flow rate of 0.65 GPM for 15 minutes. The drench hose includes a single GS-Plus spray head with flip top dust cover, internal flow control, and filter, connected to a chrome plated brass squeeze valve with stainless steel lever handle and a 6 ft. reinforced PVC hose. Operation requires filling the unit with clean potable water and adding the supplied bacteriostatic additive to inhibit bacteria, fungus, algae, and Acanthamoeba growth, followed by pressurizing to 80 PSI air pressure and adjusting the regulator to ensure a maximum 15-minute flow. The unit weighs 35.6 lbs. empty and 118.9 lbs. when filled, is fully assembled, pressurized, and water tested prior to shipment, and includes an ANSI compliant identification sign permanently affixed to the tank. Regular inspection and water replacement at least every six months are recommended.
