The DEWALT 2-1/4 HP EVS fixed base router kit, model DW618K, features a 12.0 amp electronic variable speed motor with a maximum motor HP of 2-1/4, delivering power to rout smoothly through the toughest hardwoods. It offers electronic variable speed control with full feedback for constant speed under load from 8,000 to 24,000 RPM, along with a soft start mechanism to reduce start-up torque for enhanced control. The router includes a micro-fine depth adjustment ring that provides precise depth adjustments in 1/64" increments and adjusts vertically to maintain a constant switch and cordset location. An adjustable, tool-free steel motor cam lock facilitates quick and secure depth adjustments and base changes, while quick-release motor latches allow for fast motor pack removal to change bits and bases. The detachable cordset enhances serviceability and eliminates the need for a “shorty” cord motor pack.
