The DeWalt 1-3/4 HP fixed base router kit, model DW616K, features an 11.0 amp motor delivering up to 1-3/4 HP with a no-load speed of 24,500 RPM, providing the power to rout smoothly through tough hardwoods. It includes a micro-fine depth adjustment ring allowing precise depth adjustments in 1/64" increments, which adjusts vertically to maintain a constant switch and cordset location. The adjustable, tool-free steel motor cam lock enables quick, secure depth adjustment and base changes. Quick-release motor latches facilitate fast motor pack removal for bit and base changes, while the detachable cordset offers serviceability and removes the need for a short cord motor pack. Also included is a sub-base concentricity gauge to ensure bit concentricity for best-in-class accuracy. The clear Lexan sub-base enhances base durability and bit visibility and accepts standard template guide bushings. Rubber overmolded handles combined with a low center of gravity design provide optimum comfort, balance, and control. The dust-sealed switch protects against dust ingestion to extend switch life, and the heavy-duty, precision-machined, die-cast aluminum base and motor housing ensure durability and low tool weight. The nickel-plated motor housing allows smooth, long-lasting depth adjustments. The router offers a right or left switch and cordset location to accommodate user preference, a flat top for easy bit and depth changes, and self-releasing, long eight-slotted collets for improved bit retention and elimination of frozen bits.
