The DeWalt 1-3/4 HP fixed base router, model DW616, features an 11.0 amp motor delivering up to 1-3/4 HP with a speed of 24,500 RPM, enabling smooth routing through the toughest hardwoods. It includes a micro-fine depth adjustment ring with 1/64" increments that adjusts vertically to maintain a constant switch and cordset location. An adjustable, tool-free steel motor cam lock ensures quick, secure depth adjustments and base changes, while quick release motor latches allow fast motor pack removal for bit and base changes. The detachable cordset permits easy serviceability and eliminates the need for a short cord motor pack. A sub-base concentricity gauge is included to guarantee bit concentricity for superior accuracy. The clear Lexan sub-base enhances durability, improves bit visibility, and accepts standard template guide bushings. Rubber overmolded handles and a low center of gravity provide exceptional comfort, balance, and control. The dust-sealed switch protects against dust, extending switch life. The router has a heavy-duty, precision-machined die-cast aluminum base and motor housing for durability and reduced tool weight, with a nickel-plated motor housing that allows smooth, long-lasting depth adjustment. The right or left switch and cordset location offers flexibility in switch operation.
