The kit is designed to be installed directly on the water heater hot port and serves as a dual purpose mixing or diverting valve, providing constant water temperature under different operating conditions through a proportional valve that controls hot and cold water. It reduces flow within seconds if the cold water supply is interrupted, and the temperature is adjustable using a 3/16 in. Allen® wrench, which is included. The package includes union coupled tailpiece connections, and heat trapping is not required. It features a recirculation connection for fast response and an integral check valve on the cold water port. Constructed with bronze and stainless steel, it has Teflon® coated wear surfaces to prevent lime deposits. The maximum pressure differential between hot and cold ports is 7 psi (48 kPa). The product is ASSE 1017 certified, CSA and IAPMO listed, lead-free, made in the USA, and comes with warranty terms as specified.
