Product Details
The steel kit features a 5% chromium content, which significantly enhances the durability of punches and dies during long production runs, extending the life of the tools. It allows for up to 50% more pieces to be produced per sharpening compared to traditional oil-hardening steel. The high wear resistance of this steel is particularly advantageous for stamping abrasive materials such as silicon, stainless steels, and Monel metal. The material maintains close dimensional accuracy throughout the heat treating process, and its wide 75-degree hardening range simplifies the application, making it virtually foolproof. The full-length identification markings ensure that there is no confusion with other steels. The nominal composition for AISI A2 includes Carbon at 1.00%, Chromium at 5.25%, Manganese at 0.60%, Molybdenum at 1.00%, Silicon at 0.40%, and Vanadium at 0.25%.
