3M™ Scotch® 898 filament tape measures 1-1/2" x 60 yds and has a thickness of 6.6 mil, with a total of 24 rolls included per case. This industrial-strength tape features increased tensile strength, making it ideal for full overlap L-clip box closures, bundling pipes, or reinforcing large bulk containers. It is constructed with a clear, filament-reinforced polypropylene backing that is resistant to abrasions, moisture, scuffs, and breaks, even when nicked or punctured. The tape dispenses easily without curling, allowing for straightforward application, while its multi-layer synthetic rubber adhesive system prevents delamination. The synthetic adhesive is effective on a range of surfaces commonly used in packaging, including corrugated cardboard, fiberboard, plastics, and metals. Recommended applications for this tape encompass L-clip closure for tuck-type boxes and other non-standard boxes, metal and pipe bundling, high-strength reinforcing, and heavy-duty strapping.
