3M™ 9589 Double Coated Film Tape measures 2 inches wide and 36 yards long, with a thickness of 9 mil and comes in a case containing 24 rolls. This tape features a high-density polyethylene carrier that offers dimensional stability and can be torn by hand. The synthetic rubber adhesive is applied to a densified kraft paper liner, which has been specially treated to enhance its strength and removability. The adhesive provides excellent quick stick and high adhesion, ensuring a reliable bond to various substrates, while also removing cleanly from many surfaces for easier clean-up. The tape complies with FDA 21 CFR 175.105 guidelines for indirect food contact and is recommended for use in carpet installation, general industrial mounting, joining, splicing, miscellaneous joining where high initial tack is needed, as well as die-cutting and laminating applications.
