The NER series of electric chain hoists from Harrington features advanced technology for high quality, low headroom, and full-featured performance, suitable for both routine tasks and severe working environments. Key features include "The Guardian" smart brake technology, which utilizes a current-driven electromagnetic brake that remains engaged until the motor is energized, a grade 80 nickel-plated load chain, and a count hour meter that records and displays the number of lowering starts and hoist operating time. The design incorporates a 5 pocket load sheave to minimize vibration and prolong chain life, as well as a cooler motor and brake due to its fan-cooled motor. Additionally, the hoists come with low profile upper and lower limit switches and plug-in pendant and power supply cords. They are UL listed to UL 1340, comply with RoHS requirements, and exceed the ASME H4 duty rating. Each hoist includes a test certificate confirming that it has been factory load tested to 125% of its rated capacity, in accordance with ASME B30.16.
