The 3M™ Stikit™ paper disc roll 426U measures 5" in diameter and features NH (non-hole) design with silicon carbide abrasive graded at 240 grit, containing 175 discs per roll. These multiple sanding discs are packaged in a roll format for convenience, designed for high-production environments and ideal for applications such as white wood sanding, sealer sanding, solid surface finishing, or any scenario where a fine finish is critical. The discs incorporate silicon carbide abrasive with a load-resistant coating and open coat structure, which minimizes loading by allowing dust and debris to clear from the abrasive surface, enhancing cutting performance and disc longevity. The choice of silicon carbide abrasive offers fast cutting and a smoother finish compared to aluminum oxide or garnet abrasives and is especially effective on hardwoods and solid surfaces. Constructed with A-weight light paper backing and a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA), the discs flex with backup pads and conform to contours for consistent finish results, suitable for use with rotary and random orbital sanders. Key applications include general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, and preparation prior to staining or painting on bare wood. The open coat feature also provides a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grit grade. Silicon carbide, being a synthetic mineral, is optimized for low-pressure sanding tasks such as white wood sanding, finishing, and paint prep, producing superior finishes though it wears faster than aluminum oxide. The discs’ pressure-sensitive adhesive backing ensures secure attachment during use and allows quick and easy disc changes for multi-step sanding and finishing processes.
