The 3M™ Stikit™ paper disc roll 426U includes 175 discs per roll, each measuring 5 inches in diameter with NH (non-hole) configuration, featuring silicon carbide abrasive with a grit size of 150. These sanding discs are designed for use in high-production environments and are ideal for white wood sanding, sealer sanding, solid surface applications, or any task where a fine finish is critical. The silicon carbide abrasive provides fast cutting and a smoother finish than aluminum oxide or garnet abrasives, making it effective for finishing on hard woods and solid surfaces. Constructed with A-weight light paper and a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing, the discs flex with the backup pad and conform to contours, ensuring consistent finishes. The adhesive securely holds the disc in place during use and allows for quick, easy changes suitable for multi-step sanding and finishing processes. These discs are compatible with both rotary and random orbital sanders and are used for general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, and preparation prior to staining or painting and bare wood sanding. The open coat abrasive construction spaces the abrasive grains to minimize dust loading, which enhances cutting performance and disc life by allowing dust and debris to collect in the spaces rather than clogging the abrasive surface. This open coat design also delivers a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grade, thereby achieving faster results. Silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral, is very sharp and preferred for low-pressure applications like white wood sanding, finishing, and paint preparation; although it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.
