The 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U is designed for convenience, featuring open coat aluminum oxide discs with an adhesive backing for quick attachment to a Stikit backup pad (sold separately). This disc roll eliminates the need for disc liners and allows for easy access to the discs. Made with durable aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a lightweight A-weight paper backing, these discs are suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing tasks. The open coat and load-resistant coating help prevent loading, extending the service life of the discs, making them ideal for general sanding and finishing applications on various substrates, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites like fiberglass. Each disc is equipped with a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the backside for easy application to the backup pad, ensuring a clean removal that leaves the surface uncontaminated for the next disc. The open coat construction prevents clogging from wood or paint dust, allowing for effective sanding without compromising performance. The design provides a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grade, resulting in faster outcomes.
