The 3M™ Stikit™ paper disc roll 426U includes 175 discs per roll, each measuring 5" in diameter with a non-hole (NH) design and featuring silicon carbide abrasive with a 240 grit size. These multiple sanding discs are designed for high-production environments and are ideal for white wood sanding, sealer sanding, solid surface finishing, or any application where a fine finish is critical. The discs incorporate a load-resistant coating and open coat abrasives to minimize loading by spacing abrasive grains, allowing dust and debris to collect in the spaces and providing a more aggressive cut than closed coat abrasives of the same grit. Silicon carbide abrasive is chosen for its fast cutting ability and smoother finish compared to aluminum oxide or garnet, effective for finishing on hardwoods and solid surfaces. The discs are constructed of A-weight light paper with a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing, enabling flexibility with the backup pad and contour conformity for consistent finishes. The PSA backing ensures secure adhesion during use and quick, easy changeouts for multi-step sanding and finishing processes. These discs are suitable for use with rotary and random orbital sanders and are intended for general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, and preparation prior to staining or painting, as well as bare wood sanding. Silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral, is very sharp and effective for low-pressure applications and produces a superior finish though it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide.
