The 3M™ Stikit™ paper disc roll 426U measures 6 inches in diameter and contains 125 discs per roll, featuring silicon carbide abrasive graded at 120 grit. These sanding discs are designed for high-production environments and are ideal for applications including white wood sanding, sealer sanding, solid surface finishing, and tasks where a fine finish is critical. The discs incorporate a load-resistant coating on the silicon carbide abrasive combined with an open coat construction to minimize loading by allowing dust and debris to collect in the spaced abrasive grains, which enhances cutting performance and disc longevity. The abrasive is synthetic silicon carbide, known for fast cutting and smoother finishes compared to aluminum oxide or garnet, particularly effective on hardwoods and solid surfaces. Constructed with A-weight light paper and a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing, the discs flex with backup pads and conform to contours, ensuring consistent finishes and secure adhesion for quick disc changes during multi-step sanding and finishing processes. Suitable for use with rotary and random orbital sanders, these discs address general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, and preparation prior to staining or painting on bare wood. The open coat design also provides a more aggressive cut than closed coat abrasives of the same grade.
