The 3M™ Stikit™ paper D/F disc roll 426U measures 5" in diameter with NH silicon carbide abrasive at a 180 grit size, containing 175 discs per roll. These discs are designed for high-production environments, ideal for white wood sanding, sealer sanding, solid surface applications, and situations requiring fine finish. The discs feature silicon carbide abrasive with a load-resistant coating and open coat abrasives to minimize loading, enhancing cutting performance and disc longevity. Silicon carbide provides faster cutting and a smoother finish compared to aluminum oxide or garnet and is effective on hardwoods and solid surfaces. Constructed with a-weight light paper and pressure sensitive adhesive backing, the discs flex with the backup pad to conform over contours and maintain consistent finishes, securing the disc firmly for quick changes during multi-step sanding and finishing. Suitable for rotary and random orbital sanders, these discs support applications including general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, and preparation prior to staining or painting, as well as bare wood sanding. The open coat design spaces abrasive grains to prevent dust clogging, allowing more aggressive cutting and improved efficiency. Silicon carbide’s sharp synthetic mineral composition is optimized for low-pressure tasks such as white wood sanding, finishing, and paint preparation, breaking down faster than aluminum oxide but yielding superior finishes.
