The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc features a thin bristle design measuring 3/4" x 1/16" with a ceramic 6 micron grit. This proprietary disc utilizes 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and molded, flexible bristles, which provide increased surface contact compared to traditional wire brushes while maintaining abrasive properties throughout the disc's lifespan. The disc effectively removes paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from expansive areas. Under normal usage, the flexible bristles remain intact, allowing the disc to achieve desired finishes with light pressure. Engineered to outperform wire and other abrasive discs, it is suitable for a wide range of metals including aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, and stainless steel, and is ideal for applications in general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation sectors. The ceramic aluminum oxide blend used in the disc is designed for enhanced toughness and hardness, providing superior cut-rate and durability, making it well-suited for moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing tasks while effectively managing heat and stress. Additionally, Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasives into a non-woven fiber matrix, producing a unique surface conditioning product that maintains consistent results throughout its life.
