Product Details
The unit heater features a horizontal or vertical mount downflow design with a power output of 5 kW at 240V, suitable for use as an auxiliary, supplementary, or primary heat source in a variety of environments such as factories, stores, garages, basements, warehouses, public buildings, service stations, stock-rooms, offices, and large exposed areas. This versatile unit can be mounted either horizontally or vertically and includes adjustable louvers that allow for control of the air throw direction. The louvers are designed with stops to prevent complete closure of the discharge area and provide 360° positioning. It is equipped with an aluminum-finned, copper-clad steel sheath heating element that ensures a longer useful life due to its cooler sheath temperature and faster heat dissipation. The advanced pull-through airflow design draws air across the heating element for improved air distribution and cooler element operation. The forced air unit heater includes 10 power ratings ranging from 3 kW to 50 kW heating output and operates at voltages of 208, 240, 277, and 480V, delivering heating capacities of 10,230 to 170,600 BTU/hr. It supports 1- or 3-phase wiring for 5 through 10 kW 208/240V and 15 kW 208V units, which are field interchangeable. The unit also offers branch circuit fusing as needed to meet NEC requirements for a maximum of 24 amps per circuit, and a 2-speed fan selector switch is available on the 25 to 50 kW models. An automatic control feature delays the fan action until the heating element reaches a warm state and continues operation until the heating element cools once the thermostat is satisfied, thereby preventing cold air circulation and extending component life. Additional safety is granted through an automatic reset linear thermal cut-out capillary type protection across the entire length of the element area, with manual reset protection available on a made-to-order basis. The specially designed venturi outlet ensures adequate air throw in the vertical position, and the unit is built ruggedly yet is lighter for easier installation, featuring heavy gauge die-formed steel housing and large, dynamically balanced fan blades that maximize airflow while minimizing turbulence and noise.
