The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Roloc™ Durable Edge Disc 984F is a 1-1/2" diameter abrasive disc featuring TSM ceramic grain with an 80 grit size. Designed to save time and increase throughput, this disc combines the 3M™ Roloc™ quick-change attachment system with 3M’s proprietary precision-shaped grain (PSG) technology, delivering outstanding cut rates and extended disc life. It is constructed with a laminated 2-ply polyester backing that provides wear resistance during edge work. The PSG technology produces a high cut rate with less pressure, allowing faster task completion and reducing operator fatigue. A grinding aid incorporated in the disc helps keep it cooler on stainless steel and heat-sensitive metals such as nickel alloys and titanium, minimizing metal discoloration, oxidation, and heat-related stress cracks. The precision-shaped grain is formed into triangular structures oriented electrostatically on the backing to create sharp peaks that slice cleanly through metal, self-sharpen as they break off, and wear evenly. This structure ensures faster cutting with less heat build-up and longer life. The disc is notable for outperforming conventional ceramic abrasives by requiring less grinding force and enabling the completion of more parts per disc.
