The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Roloc™ surface conditioning disc is a 3" diameter disc featuring TSM aluminum oxide very fine (VFN) grit that incorporates an open-web fiber design to run cool and resist loading while providing a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. It uses the 3M™ Roloc™ attachment system, allowing quick and easy disc changes ideal for applications including blending, deburring, and finishing. The disc is available with silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure tasks like paint preparation and finishing, while aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral offering a high cut-rate and long life, with silicon carbide producing a finer finish but breaking down faster. The 3M™ Roloc™ quick change discs attach securely to a Roloc™ disc pad (sold separately), enabling rapid disc changes during multi-step finishing processes and heavy-duty use, with color-coded grades for easy identification. These Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning products feature abrasives embedded in non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating a system that maintains consistent performance throughout the product life. The open-web material reduces heat generation, minimizing part discoloration and warping, and its load-resistant fibers prevent clogging to sustain abrasive cutting efficiency.
