The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Roloc™ durable edge disc 984F is a 1-1/2" diameter abrasive disc featuring TSM ceramic grain with 60 grit, designed for high-performance metal grinding. It incorporates the 3M™ Roloc™ quick-change attachment system along with proprietary Precision-Shaped Grain (PSG) technology, providing outstanding cut rates and extended disc life. The disc is constructed with a laminated 2-ply polyester backing that enhances wear resistance during edge work. The PSG technology allows for exceptionally high cut rates with less pressure, reducing operator fatigue and increasing throughput. A built-in grinding aid helps keep the disc cooler when working on stainless steel and heat-sensitive metals such as nickel alloys and titanium, minimizing metal discoloration, oxidation, and heat-related stress cracks. The triangular abrasive grains are electrostatically oriented to form sharp peaks that slice cleanly through metal, continuously self-sharpening as points break off, which results in faster cutting and less heat build-up from friction. The disc’s even wear and cooler operation extend its lifespan compared to conventional ceramic abrasives.
