The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Roloc™ surface conditioning disc features a 1-1/2" diameter TSM VFN grit with an open-web fiber design that runs cool and resists loading, while its abrasives provide a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. It is available with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish but breaking down faster than aluminum oxide, which offers a hard, blocky structure for high cut-rate and long life. The disc utilizes the 3M™ Roloc™ quick change attachment system, allowing secure and easy disc changes onto Roloc™ disc pads (sold separately), facilitating fast swapping between tasks like blending, deburring, and finishing. Each disc is color-coded to identify its grade for convenient selection. Scotch-Brite™ products combine abrasives with non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers to create a consistent abrasive system that extends product life by limiting clogging and reducing heat generation to prevent part discoloration and warping. The product meets industry standards for surface conditioning and includes warranty coverage as specified by 3M.
