The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Roloc™ Durable Edge Disc 984F is designed to save time and increase throughput by combining the convenience of the 3M™ Roloc™ quick-change attachment system with 3M proprietary precision-shaped grain (PSG) technology, resulting in exceptional cut rates and disc life. This disc features a laminated 2-ply polyester backing for enhanced wear-resistance during edge work, while the PSG ensures a high cut-rate with reduced pressure, allowing operators to complete tasks faster and with less fatigue. Incorporating a grinding aid, the disc performs effectively on various metals, particularly stainless steel and heat-sensitive alloys like nickel and titanium, helping to minimize metal discoloration and oxidation as well as the risk of heat-related stress cracks. The PSG technology involves the creation of triangular structures from 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain, which are electrostatically oriented to form sharp peaks that cut cleanly through metal, rather than gouging, and continuously self-sharpen as points break off. This mechanism permits faster grinding, enabling more parts to be completed per disc with less effort. The Cubitron™ II products not only reduce heat build-up due to friction but also wear evenly, leading to a longer lifespan compared to traditional ceramic abrasives, thus ensuring high performance in production applications.
