The Thermo Scientific™ Cimarec™ Biosystem slow-speed stirrer is designed for stirring thermally sensitive cultures such as microcarrier cultures, culture broths, and cell suspensions, providing gentle stirring and low heat output to safeguard sensitive cell cultures within CO2 incubators. It features hermetically sealed housing that resists microorganisms, with a separate external controller that ensures only the sealed stirrer is exposed to the CO2 environment. The stirrer operates without generating heat, protecting thermal sensitive cell cultures and maintaining incubator conditions, while its stainless steel housing is easy to clean and resistant to aggressive media. It provides gradual low-shear acceleration on start-up and has an adjustable power setting on the controller that decreases power consumption and lowers heat output. The stirrer operates under conditions of -10°C to +56°C at 100% relative humidity and has a protection class of IP 68. For optimal stirring, it achieves smooth and even stirring as low as 5 RPM, with single position stirrers capable of stirring up to 20L and four-position stirrers stirring up to 5L per position. A Biomodul 40 B control unit is required for operation and is sold separately. Note that this product will not ship to residential addresses.
