Perform life science and biotechnology applications with the help of Thermo Scientific™ Super-Nuova™ multi-position digital stirring hotplates, which offer four independently-controlled stirring positions on one heated ceramic top. This kit includes a microprocessor-controlled system for accurate and stable setpoints for temperature and stirring speed, coupled with electronic feedback controls that monitor either the top plate surface or liquid temperature using an external PTFE-coated probe, which is included. The device features a single control knob for both heat and speed, with a lock feature to prevent accidental changes, and a digital display for temperature or RPM. A powerful motor and magnetic system ensure prevention of magnetic decoupling, while the Thermo Scientific™ Stir Trac™ breaking feature brings the stir bar to an immediate stop for quick false removal. Temperature can be adjusted in 1° increments, and four user-defined temperature/speed memory keys allow for easy recall of settings. The calibration mode permits the remote probe to be calibrated to external standards. The ceramic tops are easy to clean, resist chemicals, and provide fast boiling times. The hotplates can be used in a 0° to 27°C environment with 80% relative humidity (non-condensing), and an RS-232 port enables the output of time count, temperature setpoint, top surface/remote probe temperature, stirring setpoint, and actual speed. Safety features include a red hot top warning light that activates when the heating surface exceeds 50°C (122°F), with the unit flashing hot off until the surface temperature decreases.
