The Thermo Scientific™ RT2 advanced digital hotplate stirrer is designed for precise control with a sleek, low profile, featuring digital temperature and speed control with a 0.1°C temperature resolution and a stir speed range of 30 to 2000 RPM. It incorporates microprocessor PID control with feedback, allowing users to view current and set temperature or stir speed simultaneously. The temperature range extends to a maximum of 350°C / 662°F, with customizable heating rates adjustable from 0 to 100% at 1% intervals. The unit includes a timer that can be set to start immediately, countdown, or begin when the top plate reaches the desired temperature set point. User-configurable temperature limit settings and a lockable keypad enhance security, while a temperature probe allows for external sensor mode operation, facilitating real-time sample or media temperature detection on the digital display. Safety features include a hot top warning indicator that lights up when the unit is turned off but still plugged in until the top plate reaches ambient temperature. The hotplate stirrer is made with a ceramic-coated aluminum alloy top plate for excellent uniformity and corrosion resistance, and has two threaded holes for support rods, accommodating various devices such as temperature sensors, thermometers, and laboratory glassware (support rod and clamp sold separately).
