The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL Unitized Wheel measures 2" x 1/4" x 1/4" and is made with aluminum oxide in a medium grade. It features a soft, conformable consistency that effectively smoothes, deburrs, and finishes the edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The wheels come in a variety of densities ranging from very soft density 2 for flexibility to hard, aggressive density 8 for maximum cut and durability. This unitized wheel provides a clean edge without smearing, reducing additional clean-up and preparation. Designed for optimal performance on die grinders, it minimizes heat buildup during operation, making it suitable for heat-sensitive materials. The wheel is filled with abrasive minerals, including aluminum oxide available in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades, and silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades. Scotch-Brite™ products combine abrasives with non-woven nylon fibers to deliver consistent results over the product's life, utilizing an open-web, load-resistant material that limits clogging of nylon fibers and maintains high cutting performance. Typical applications include blending and deburring.
