Therm-X-Trol® expansion tanks are designed to absorb expanded water resulting from thermal expansion as domestic water is heated, preventing pressure increases that could lead to relief valve discharge and other hazardous conditions. The kit includes an antimicrobial liner that neutralizes bacteria on contact, a patent-pending turbulator water diffuser, and features a 50 psi precharge, which is the industry's highest. Constructed with deep drawn steel domes, these tanks offer twice the strength of other options on the market. The design includes the thickest diaphragm for extra long life, a hoop and groove design for added reliability, and a stainless steel system connection. The product is NSF 61 approved, meets California (CA) and Vermont (VT) low lead standards, and is made in the USA. Water heater manufacturers and plumbing codes mandate the installation of an expansion control device if a backflow preventer, pressure reducing valve, or check valve is present in the domestic supply line, and Therm-X-Trol meets all manufacturers' requirements.
