The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D measures 1" with NH attachment and features P180 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed with a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres securely to a backup pad or steel platen, enabling efficient application and clean removal. The disc incorporates a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding tasks. Its closed coat aluminum oxide particles provide a fast cut for grinding and dual action sanding on metal, supporting applications such as deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts of various sizes and shapes. The PSA disc mounts onto a backup pad (sold separately), which attaches to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its fast cut rate, long life, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it effective for grinding and finishing on ferrous alloys as well as woodworking materials. The heat-resistant resin maintains bond stability under high heat or pressure. Typical applications include blending, deburring, working on flat areas, grinding, orbital sanding, and random orbital sanding within metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
