The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D measures 1" x NH and features P100 grit aluminum oxide for heavy-duty sanding applications. It includes a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing designed to adhere securely to a backup pad or steel platen, enabling efficient application and clean removal. The disc uses a heat-resistant resin bond and a cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding tasks. Aluminum oxide particles are arranged in a closed coat for a fast cut, ideal for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal surfaces. This versatile disc facilitates deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The PSA disc is pressed onto a backup pad (sold separately), which can be attached to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide abrasive provides a tough, durable mineral that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, offering long life and a fast cut rate, suitable for a wide range of materials, including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. The heat-resistant resin bond ensures stability of the abrasive backing bond under conditions of high heat and pressure. Typical applications include blending, deburring, grinding, and orbital sanding on flat areas in metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
