The 3M™ Hookit™ Gold Film Disc 255L 5" x NH P240 Grit Aluminum Oxide features aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a film backing designed for fast cut-rate and uniform, close-tolerance finish on wood, paint preparation, and defect repair applications. The flexible film backing offers consistent finish quality and greater tear-resistance compared to paper products, making it suitable for high-production environments. Constructed of durable aluminum oxide, it works well with most wood species. The disc has an open coat design, providing a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, and includes a special loading-resistant coating to reduce clogging. Typical applications include AOEM finish preparation and repair, finishing, orbital sanding, paint and lacquer sanding, cabinetry, custom woodworking and millwork, furniture making, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing. The product is compliant with industry standards for these uses, featuring dimensions of 5 inches diameter and P240 grit, designed for NH-type Hookit pads.
