The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Cross Buff 2" x 1/2" VFN grit aluminum oxide kit includes a 2-ply staggered design abrasive polishing and cleaning tool designed for satin finishing, denibbing, and defuzzing interior diameters of metal components such as lifter bores, valve bodies, valve spools, and tubing. The nylon web conformability allows effective removal of surface oxidation, rust, and corrosion on dies and molds prior to coating and polishing. The purple cleaning and polishing tool uses aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, low heat retention, and long life, capable of producing a high luster finish. Aluminum oxide minerals self-fracture to expose fresh cutting edges, making them suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing on a wide variety of substrates, including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking applications. Scotch-Brite™ combines abrasives within non-woven fibers, creating a surface conditioning product with an open-web material that resists load and limits clogging, maintaining high abrasive performance throughout its life. Typical applications include blending, cleaning and deburring internal diameters, and polishing, primarily used in industries such as metal fabrication.
