The 3M™ Hookit™ Paper Disc 216U measures 5 inches in diameter with NH P400 grit and is constructed of aluminum oxide abrasive on a lightweight paper backing, designed for finishing applications using a random orbital sander on materials such as wood, primer, paint, sealers, topcoats, fiberglass, and plastics. The disc features an open coat construction and a load-resistant coating to prevent clogging, optimize cut rate, and extend disc life. It utilizes the 3M™ Hookit™ hook-and-loop attachment system for fast and easy disc changes, allowing repeated use through the abrasive life. The open coat layout spaces abrasive grains to help evacuate sanding dust, while the load-resistant coating maintains cutting efficiency on softwoods, paints, and other clog-prone materials. Aluminum oxide abrasive is chosen for its fast cut rate, long life, and self-fracturing properties that expose fresh cutting edges, making it suitable for woodworking, metalworking, and ferrous alloys. This product is particularly applied for AOEM finish preparation, repair, leveling, and orbital sanding in the AOEM industry and is designed to increase productivity and reduce material consumption.
