This flap disc is designed for heavy-duty, high-pressure metalworking applications including weld removal, sharp-edge work, and beveling, delivering a blended finish in a single step. It incorporates fast-cutting alumina zirconia on durable polyester-backed flaps that overlap and continually wear away to expose fresh abrasive mineral, ensuring a consistent cut and longer life. The cushioning effect of the flaps produces a finish typically one grade finer than the disc rating, reducing the need for additional finishing. The flap disc includes a grinding aid to reduce grinding temperatures on heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium. It is intended for use with right angle grinders. The giant size of this flap disc matches the diameter of standard discs but features wider flaps, which provide 25% more abrasive material for a more aggressive cut and extended durability. The flap disc adheres to a three-dimensional design of overlapping fiber-reinforced, abrasive-coated flaps fanning from a central hub, serving as a one-step alternative to bonded wheels and fiber discs by grinding and finishing simultaneously.
