The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Flap Disc 967A is a 4-1/2" x 7/8" 40 grit ceramic grain type 27 wheel designed for low to medium-high pressure applications on flat surfaces and outside edgework, particularly in paint prep and stainless steel fabrication where achieving a final finish and gouge resistance is crucial. This disc features 3M's precision-shaped grain, which maintains super-sharp points that cut exceptionally fast with less pressure, helping to run cooler and reduce metal discoloration or oxidation as well as the risk of heat-related stress cracks. The flaps are engineered to grind and blend in a single step, while the durable Y-weight poly-cotton backing ensures controlled, even wear throughout the disc's use. Additionally, a grinding aid built into the disc minimizes grinding temperatures, making it suitable for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys. Its applications include edge beveling, edge chamfering, right angle grinding, and weld removal and finishing.
