The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL deburring wheel measures 12" x 1" x 5" with a fin 9S grit silicon carbide abrasive. It features a hard, dense consistency designed to quickly deburr, finish, and polish various metals, composites, and glass, leaving a smooth, clean surface. Its conformable nature makes it suitable for deburring stamped or laser-cut parts and finishing after belt sanding. The wheel's convolute construction and uniform wear promote smooth operation and minimize operator fatigue, while its Scotch-Brite material runs cool to provide consistent wear and expose fresh abrasives, ideal for heat-sensitive substrates. The kit includes the deburring wheel with silicon carbide abrasive, which is a synthetic, sharp mineral best suited for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish compared to aluminum oxide, which offers higher cut rates and longer life. The wheel’s abrasive minerals are incorporated into non-woven nylon fibers, forming an open-web, load-resistant material that limits clogging and maintains high performance.
