The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D 16" x NH 50 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that attaches to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. This disc incorporates a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, enhancing durability and stability under high heat and pressure. The coating consists of aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a closed coat, providing a fast cut suitable for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. The aluminum oxide mineral is known for its fast cut-rate, long life, toughness, and self-fracturing properties that expose fresh cutting edges during use, making it ideal for a range of materials including ferrous alloys. The PSA disc is designed to be pressed onto a separately sold backup pad for use with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders.
