The 3M™ Cubitron™ II flap disc 967A measures 4-1/2" in diameter with a 5/8-11 internal thread and features an 80 grit ceramic grain on a type 29 wheel. This flap disc is designed for low to medium-high pressure applications on flat surfaces or outside edgework, particularly suitable for paint preparation and stainless steel fabrication where final finish quality and gouge resistance are critical. It utilizes 3M precision shaped grain that maintains super-sharp points for exceptionally fast cutting with less pressure. Engineered to run cooler, the disc reduces metal discoloration, oxidation, and heat-related stress cracks. The flaps grind and blend simultaneously, supported by a durable Y-weight poly-cotton backing that ensures controlled, even wear for full disc usage under low to medium-high pressure. Additionally, the disc incorporates a grinding aid to minimize grinding temperatures, making it appropriate for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys. Typical applications include edge beveling, edge chamfering, right-angle grinding, weld removal, and finishing.
